You attended Oakfields College and did a full time course with us. What course did you study and what was your favourite subject in that course?
I studied Fashion design and I enjoyed all of the subjects.
What are you currently doing now and is this profession the one you studied towards?
I am currently interning for David Tlale at David Tlale Couture studio. It is a 1 year internship and yes, it is in the Fashion industry.
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
I enjoy a challenge, working with different people and accepting people for who they are since we are working with people from all over the world within the brand. I also enjoy learning daily about how to deal with clients, pattern engineering and the quality of the product.
What advice would you give students studying the same course that you did?
My lecturer at Oakfields College, Elli-Nicole Sazeides, once said fashion design is not for fun but for people who know why they’re in it. It requires dedication, passion, admiration and undivided love. That means that there are times where you have to compromise and not sleep at all in order to meet your deadlines.
What is your definition of “happiness”?
Reaching a destination where you feel you belong.
What are the main lessons you have learnt since you have started working?
Respect goes a long way without it you’re nothing. You can be creative but without it you won’t go anywhere.
If you could meet any famous person, who would it be and why?
Viktor and Rolf. Their work motivates me. It is my fuel. They show a statement of being an artist.
